Top Ten Tuesday (30)- Bookish Problems I have

Top Ten Bookish Problems I have

1) Too many books I want to read!-  I am still listing all the books I own, but combine that with other books I have on my want-to-read list on goodreads and we have between 8000-10,000 books!!!!  No joke.  And I am always finding new books to add plus there are constantly more books coming out!  What's a bookworm to do?!

2) Not enough space.- Even though my husband literally built me a library, I am picky about how they are shelved and they is no free room.  Right now I have a stack by my computer here that don't have a home...  Plus once I read a book and IF I decide to part with it, I then have to shuffle books shelf by shelf to keep my books in the right order.  Hence why this year is going to be a bigger push on reading some older titles that are overdue on being read. Yet more seem to come in than what goes out.... *Sigh*

3)Time! Or lack thereof...-There is never enough time in the day, week etc.  I am often wishing I could just freeze time for a short while to go read.

4)How many review books I am now behind on.  I get a few caught up, then a rush of amazing titles come out at the same time and I over request, putting myself further in the hole.

5)Never enough money- I love to support my favorite authors and owning my own book copies brand new but costs limit how many I by new a year.  Many books are library, borrows, swaps or used bookstores.

6) Some family/friends are starting to think all I do is book related.  While it is my top interest, it is far from my only!  I can talk about other things but sadly I guess some don't see that anymore.

7) Sequels taking too long- I hate waiting at all to read the next book of a series but a year plus is the worst.  Then I have to go back and read the previous books in the series to recall all the details.  Like I don't have enough to read for new titles it seems half my time goes to rereads.

8) Not having people to really talk to about particular books.  Sometimes I read a book and really want to question or talk out a particular book ending, but online it is too easy to spoil it for one who has not read the books yet.

9) Reading positions- No position seems to last long enough.  Get into a good read session and I can wear through every position and combination of laying/sitting possible it seems.  And still end up with a sore neck, back or elbow when it is all said and done.  The pains of reading!

10) They just don't get it- When others judge us for enjoying a good book.  And no matter how you explain it, they just don't get it.  And those that mock, tease or ignore you because of it are the worst!

Do you relate to any of these?  What bookish problem do you struggle with the most?

  1. Time is a big issue. There are to many good books out there!
I over request too. I am just starting to dig myself out of the pile I had, so I hope I can stay on top now... We shall see.;)

  2. It sounds like we have a lot of the same problems. I'm pretty behind on my reviewing right now, so I could add that to my list. I really hate waiting for sequels, too. Sometimes I forget what happened in the previous book by the time the next one comes out. Great list!

  3. I definitely agree with you on your list! I hate it when I run out of book space. I have about three shelves, but some of my books are starting to get stacked on top of the other books and it's starting to annoy me because I'm running out of space. :( I may have to go through and purge some books soon. Thanks for sharing, great list! :)

  5. I do relate to many of your "problems". It is ever thus. The "tragic" life of a reader. LOL

  6. I so agree that I can never find the perfect position that I can be in for a long period of time. I am wiggly normally, so I shouldn't even think I would, but still you could hope for a perfect position!

  8. #9, oh yes. I have a lot of problems with that. My arms go dead or I get backache or... whatever. I feel like someone should kickstart an intelligent chair that shapes itself to your needs while reading!
