June 2015 Recap

So this month had a rough start when my computer faced the blue screen of death.  I was without it for nearly 3 weeks.  so there was a lack of posting happening this early month and what little order I had for blogging went out the door.  Now I am finally getting things back under control but it is still a mess.  for starters, when they wiped my computer Microsoft Office programs disappeared and now i will have to buy a new one.  Not helpful when money is tight and working from a read-only files is a pain so what I have done is slower.

So while I had hoped to clean up my blog in June, it just did not happen.  Sorry.  I will try to work on things this month.

My birthday was this month as was my first anniversary with my wonderful husband.  So that was a plus in the months chaos.  I have also re-discovered a love for coloring with colored pencils.  Not basic children's coloring books but the more detailed, geometric types.  Mandala circles, garden art, etc.  just something to relax to with a bit of creativity.

So here is what you may have missed this month on the blog and in my reading.

Books I finished reading:
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil GaimanHomegrown Terror by Steve WhiteThe Death Cure by James DashnerThe Heir by Kiera Cass

Find Momo Coast to Coast by Andrew KnappManga Classics by Stacy Kingギャングスタ 6 by KohskeLBX by Hideaki FujiiResident Evil - Biohazard by CapcomThe Naturals by Jennifer Lynn BarnesTwisted Dark, Volume 2 by Neil GibsonTwisted Dark, Volume 1 by Neil GibsonAlienated by Melissa LandersSpread, Vol. 1: No HopeThe Forever Song by Julie KagawaThe Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly BlackLBX by Hideaki FujiiFreak of Nature by Julia CraneThe Lost Mind by Christopher PikeJoJo's Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko ArakiGame by Barry Lyga

So one thing I have been reading lately is a lot of Young Adult novels.  While I love them, I need to start branching out my reading once again.  Some of my favorite fantasy ans suspense authors are being neglected.  So there will likely be a few less YA books in the coming months are more "adult" novels.

My Reviews I posted:
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys
Blank Slate (Vol 1) by Aya Kanno
Plague of the Dead (1) by Z.A. Recht
Immortal Loves Stories With Bite edited by P.C. Cast (vampire anthology)
Tail of the Moon by Rink Ueda
Freak of Nature by Julia Crane

So, all-in-all, not a terrible month for missing a third of it, but still not too horrible on posts.  Still need to step up new topics I think.

So what would you like to see more or less of here?

  1. I read The Ocean at the End of the Lane earlier this year by Neil Gaiman. I didn't care for it much. Sure it had some great imagery, but it wasn't a great read for me... It seems like everyone else I've come across actually loved this novel. What did you think about it??
